October 22, 2018 – The Lutheran Village at MILLER’S GRANT will host a Faith in Aging seminar featuring nationally recognized author Missy Buchanan on Monday, November 12 at First Lutheran Church, 3604 Chatham Rd. in Ellicott City.
Buchanan’s most recent book “Voices of Aging” offers a compassionate look at how people of faith cope with the fears and frustrations of aging. “Even as they struggled with physical decline, they valiantly showed the rest of the family how to deal graciously with the heartbreaking loss of independence,” Buchanan writes in the foreword to the book. She also wrote “Living with Purpose in a Worn-Out Body” and several other books, and co-authored “My Story, My Song” with Lucimarian Roberts and Robin Roberts, co-host of Good Morning America.
The native Texan writes a monthly column for the United Methodist Reporter and has written for other publications including Presbyterians Today, Mature Years and Entrepreneur. She serves on the Committee on Aging Ministry of the United Methodist church and injects spiritual creativity, passion and humor into events for churches and other organizations.
The event will begin with hors d’oeuvres at 6:00 p.m. followed by Buchanan at 6:45 p.m. For details or to RSVP please call 410-465-2005.
