Site Development Plan Approved
March 14, 2013
We are delighted to announce that the Howard County Department of Planning and Zoning has approved the site development plan for The Lutheran Village at MILLER’S GRANT.
The approved plan includes a total of 36 residential units, 24 of which are single family homes and six of which are duplexes, 248 apartments, a 60-bed residential care facility, and centrally located community space.
“We are very excited that HowardCounty has approved our plan for the site and we are looking forward to joining the Ellicott City and Howard County communities,” said President/CEO Geary Milliken. “While it may seem as though nothing is happening at the site itself, we continue to work through the appropriate planning, design and approval processes so that we are able to break ground as soon as pre-construction sales requirements are met.”
The project will be completed in two phases. Phase one includes 215 apartments, 25 homes, and 20 assisted living suites and 12 skilled nursing beds in the residential care building. Harkins Builders in Marriottsville will oversee construction of the apartments, community center, and residential care facility. Williamsburg Homes in Columbia will build the homes in the community.
Land Use Approval from Howard County
February 06, 2013
In support of the Lutheran Village at MILLER'S GRANT, the Department of Planning and Zoning for Howard County has granted another temporary land use permit for the Welcome Center located at 9531 Frederick Road. The Welcome Center is approved for pre-construction sales and marketing of the continuing care retirement community.
Over 75% Reserved -- Pre-Construction Goals
January 15, 2013
The Lutheran Village at MILLER’S GRANT ended 2012 with 77% of the deposits needed to begin construction on the continuing care retirement community along Frederick Road in Ellicott City. A total of 129 deposits were received through December 31, 2012.
“Activity increased significantly in the fall,” said Vice-President for Marketing and Communications Brenda Becker. “The economy and the real estate market are improving, leading to optimism among seniors that they will be able to sell their homes when they need to and at the price they need to move forward with their retirement plans.”
Phase I of the project will include 215 apartments, 25 homes, 20 assisted living suites and 12 skilled nursing beds as well as dining venues, a clubhouse and a 24-hour state-of-the-art fitness center on 50 acres next to the Howard County Public Library Charles E. Miller Branch & Historical Center. Harkins Builders of Marriottsville has been selected to build the facility and Williamsburg Homes in Columbia will build the homes. Construction is expected to begin 90-days after the requisite number of deposits are received.
