Ellicott City Family Fun Walk Supports Seniors
On Sunday, Oct. 30 from 1 to 3 p.m. Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant is offering Miller’s Grant Mission Miles – a family fun walk. The event generates an annual income that directly supports the community’s Ministry of Caring fund, which enables residents to remain at LVMG if they have outlived their financial resources, so they can continue receiving ongoing care and the best possible quality of life.
The almost two-mile event, which includes the grounds of LVMG, Howard County Library’s Miller Branch and the Ellicott City 50+ Center, offers participants an event t-shirt, fun games, a pumpkin patch, Halloween treats and a 50/50 raffle drawing. Kids are encouraged to wear costumes for some pre-Halloween fun but all participants should wear comfortable fall walking attire.
“I’m excited to host our 2nd annual Mission Miles walk. It gives the community an opportunity to see our campus, interact with residents and team members, participate in a healthy activity and have a little fun – all for a great cause,” stated Miller’s Grant’s Executive Director, Michelle Rosenheim. “I’m hopeful that this years’ event will be even bigger than the last,” Rosenheim added.
There’s no cost to participant. However, walkers are required to register. For businesses interested in participating, sponsorships are available. For details, visit millersgrant.org/walkinformation.
