December 11, 2018 – The Lutheran Village at MILLER’S GRANT will host a free concert on Monday, January 28 at 7pm featuring an internationally known guitar soloist and a local string quartet.

Renowned classical guitarist Charles Mokotoff will play the first half of the concert.  Mokotoff, who is hearing impaired, has played Carnegie Hall and the Lincoln Center Performing Arts Library in New York, venues in Chicago, Boston and San Francisco, and has toured the Far East twice.  He now resides in the Washington, D.C. area.

The second half of the concert features the string quartet of David Brown and Sheyna Burt on violin, Caroline Brethauer on viola, and David Pearl on cello. Selections include Variations on “Sakura” (a beloved traditional song “Cherry Blossom”) and the String Quartet in F major by Maurice Ravel.

The musicians are all performing members of the Friday Morning Music Club of Washington, D.C.

The concert will be held in the Formal Dining Room at The Lutheran Village at MILLER’S GRANT, 9000 Fathers Legacy in Ellicott City.  The concert is free and open to the public.  A freewill offering will be accepted to support the MILLER’ S GRANT Chapel/Auditorium fund.

The Lutheran Village at MILLER’S GRANT is a faith based not-for-profit continuing care retirement community in Ellicott City with 205 apartments, 36 homes, 20 assisted living suites and 12 nursing beds off Frederick Road next to the Charles E. Miller Library.  MILLER’S GRANT opened in February 2016 and is currently home to nearly 375 residents.
