In our latest Leadership Series, President and CEO Jeff Branch interviews Steve Powell, vice president of Finance. In addition to overseeing the Finance department, he also oversees the Information Technology and Risk Management departments at Lutheran Social Ministries of Maryland.
Powell has been with LSMMD for seven years, starting his tenure with Carroll Lutheran Village. Prior to joining the continuing care retirement community, he worked for Carroll County government for nearly 30 years in finance related positions in different areas of the government. Powell loves the CCRC concept, and is excited about the upcoming projects, which he addresses, that will help both the residents and team members.
A native of Taneytown, Powell grew up on a farm near the Monocacy river, attended the University of Virginia, lives in Westminster and has list of passions, including his wife, their two children and horses and much more.
