Angeles Quiozon has been working at Miller’s Grant as a maintenance technician for two years. When he isn’t busy with campus repairs, he’s home skillfully creating upcycled art, which he recently began displaying at Miller’s Grant. At his previous job, at another continuing care retirement community, he created paper flowers for the residents, which sparked his inspiration to create 3D art.
He prefers to use recycled materials for his art such as soda cans and copper wire. His favorite works are his wire tree and scorpion sculptures, which really show off his craftmanship. “It’s a way for me to de-stress; it’s therapeutic,” said Quiozon when asked what he enjoys most about creating art..
Currently, he only displays is artwork at Miller’s Grant but hopes to have his work displayed in more communities in the future. Keep an eye out for his art around campus!
