This kale greens recipe can be used with any leafy greens, like collard greens. For extra flavor, add a ham bone.
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb. kale trimmed and rinsed
- 1 tbsp garlic (minced)
- 3 tbsp diced onions
- 1 small bag shredded carrots
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tsp hot sauce
- 3 cups chicken stock
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a quart pot, simmer half of the chicken broth, minced garlic, onions, brown sugar, half the apple cider vinegar and carrots. Let simmer for 3 minutes.
- Add kale and the remaining chicken stock and apple cider vinegar. Simmer for 1 hour or as long as you like. The kale greens should melt in your mouth.
- Add hot sauce, salt and pepper to taste.
